Angel Bread and Mardi Gras: The Early Years of St. Rose Dominican Hospitals

St. Rose Dominican Hospital, a major community institution in Henderson since 1942, is the home of HDPL's Books for Babies program which educates new parents about the importance of reading to their infants. Also, St. Rose’s Barbara Greenspun Women’s Health Care Center funds and maintains a women’s care collection at both the Gibson Library and the Paseo Verde Library.

"The presence of St. Rose Dominican Hospital represents a visible anchor connecting residents with their community heritage. It serves as a place of reference, and image of stability."  Women of St. Rose Local Legacy 2000 Written Report, Joan McSweeney, Chair, Women's Committee, St. Rose Dominican Hospital
