Keeping the library orderly so that items can be easily located in a timely manner in support of primary circulation and reference functions.
Must be at least sixteen years of age. Computer literacy an asset.
Shelve materials returned to the library. Collect and reshelve materials used in the library. Read shelves to maintain accuracy of filing system and shelf locations. May occasionally assist with basic circulation duties in an automated library environment. May assist patrons with directional or basic questions and by referring them to appropriate staff. Other related duties as assigned.
$7.31 - $11.26 per hour. Hiring level commensurate with experience.
Schedule consists of up to 19 hours per week. Schedule is flexible and may include evening and/or weekend hours.
Normally seated, standing, walking, stooping or bending at will; must be capable of normal physical activity including pushing and pulling fully-loaded book trucks, and carrying heavy loads of books and other library materials. Keyboarding and working at a computer monitor for extended periods required. Extended periods of standing may be required when working at service desk. Phone usage, reading, speaking, and listening required.
