Gibson Library has now relocated. We have closed the old building at 280 Water Street and are now in our new building at 100 W. Lake Mead Pkwy at the corner of Lake Mead and Water Street in the Target shopping center.

Why did Gibson Library move?
Gibson has needed a new location for a long time. There is not enough parking near the current location to accommodate all the library's visitors. Also, our neighbors at Henderson City Hall need the space for their offices and public services. The library facility itself was not constructed to provide many services that people expect, such as programs, study rooms, and a high volume of public computer use.
How can the library afford the construction of a new building in the current poor economy?
Because the city of Henderson needs the space at the old Gibson Library, the Library District was able to sell the building to the city. The funds from this sale are being used for the construction of the new building. No debt is incurred for this project.
What improvements will the new building provide for the public?
