Jim, Beverly Rogers host 'Night with the Classics' June 6 to benefit Henderson Libraries Foundation Fund

Special guest author Clive Cussler to attend

HENDERSON, Nev. Longtime supporters of education, Nevada System of Higher Education Chancellor Jim Rogers and his wife, Beverly, will host a “Night with the Classics” Friday, June 6, from 6-8 p.m. as they display their collection of 120 classic convertibles in support of the Henderson Libraries Foundation Fund.

"We are very appreciative that Jim and Beverly are supportive of Henderson Libraries and our efforts ,” said Tom Fay, executive director for Henderson Libraries. “We are extremely fortunate that they have lent us their support, as well as access to half of their entire collection, to raise money to benefit Henderson Libraries and its work.”

The event, which is by invitation only, is the Fund’s first fundraiser. The fund was established in 2005 to support Henderson Libraries by providing funding for library collections, services, technology, programs and facility enhancement and expansion.In 2007, the Joan T. Wholihan Scholarship was merged into the Foundation Fund, further establishing the commitment to the education of library professionals in southern Nevada.

Author and adventurer Clive Cussler, a classic automobile and convertible collector himself, will serve as special guest at the event. Cussler's books, including works such as “Cyclops,” “Deep Six,” “Dragon” and dozens more are published in more than 40 languages in more than 100 countries with a readership of more than 125 million.

The event will take place at the Sunbelt Classic and Antique Automobile Museum – located at 1420 Gragson, just off

N. Bruce St.
and
E. Washington Ave.


Raffle tickets will be sold at the event for $100 for a chance to win: a night on the town in a classic limo with a private driver; dinner at Nove Italiano; VIP passes to the Playboy Club; or VIP passes to Moon Nightclub.

Established in 1943 as a single library in Downtown Henderson, Henderson Libraries now offers four locations throughout Henderson and cooperates with the other public libraries in Southern Nevada, the Nevada System of Higher Education, the Clark County School District and all other libraries around the state to provide quality service for Nevada’s residents.
