The Henderson Libraries and the 
present the Inaugural Read & Run For Your Health 5K & 1 Mile Walk
Why:
The money raised from this event will be used to provide a more robust, current, and up to date consumer health collection. The library district will purchase books, magazines, DVD’s, audio books, and other types of library material that will focus on consumer health. All materials will be made available for the public to check out. In addition, some of the money raised will fund consumer health programs that will be open to the public. The Read & Run For Your Health 5K and 1 Mile Walk is a family oriented event and walker friendly!
When:
Saturday February 23rd, 2008 at 7am
Where:
Race will start and end at the James I. Gibson Library (280 South Water Street, Henderson NV 89015). The course will loop through beautiful downtown Henderson and Water Street District area. Click Here (pdf) for a course map
What do I get?
In addition to the satisfaction of supporting the Henderson Libraries and being healthy all participants will receive a race t-shirt and goodie bag. Awards will be given to the 5K top 3 overall all (male & female) winners and the top 3 (male & female) in each age division. We will also have refreshments available post race for all participants. Finally, we will have a post race drawing with great prizes up for grabs!
*The overall Female and Male winner of the 5K will receive a $50 Southwest Airlines gift card!!*

What does it cost?
Only $25 for either the 5K Run or 1 Mile Walk if you register by February 15th, 2008! Race fees go up after February 15th, 2008 so register early!
Where is packet pick-up?
Packet pick-up will be at the Gibson Library on Friday February 22nd, 2008 from 10am-4:30pm. You can also pick-up your packet on race morning.
Race Day Parking:
There is public parking in the City of Henderson and Eldorado Casino parking garages. Parking is also available at the Henderson Convention Center and Corely Center (corner of Water & Basic). There is also street parking along Basic and Ocean avenues. Finally, there is limited parking in the Gibson library parking lot and City of Henderson visitor parking lot as well. Please carpool if possible.
